I‘m a second-time expat (I loved both Berlin, and now London/Hertfordshire). There is a lot of grumpy expats, but I agree that in 99% of cases, it‘s rosy expectations vs. reality. But then again, there‘s a lot of grumpy people living in the countries they were born in.. happiness is a journey, not a destination.
